Hi Sally, it was great meeting you last w/e in Cambridge. You
encouraged me to write in with details of my Heyer items for sale so,
briefly: I have a number of Georgette's handwritten letters from
the 60s and 70s, not yet on my website. I specialise in Georgette
Heyer books and always try to offer on my site a selection of first
editions and other hardbacks as well as cheaper editions. I welcome
enquiries from everyone. www.borisbooks.co.uk |

To Diana W. I also rate A Civil Contract as possibly my favourite -
have just reread it. I would also love to see BBC adaptations (or
movies) of GH novels. I think I would start with Frederica - it is
falling off your chair funny and has a balloon ascent, endangered
child, Baluchistan Hound, and a love story! What more could you ask
for? |

I really enjoyed the conferance though, although I did put a bit of
thread round my handbag, no one approached me! I'll post a brief
review later. |

Anyone discovered iTunes Heyer unabridged Audio Books yet?? They are
brilliant and I highly recommend them. Just finished listening to
Devil's Cub read by Michael Drew - wonderfully done. Also have
Frederica, Bath Tangle and Regency Buck.
For the person who mentioned North and South - it's a
"classic" by Elizabeth Gaskell (Cranford) which was
serialised as a costume drama by the BBC and is a VERY romantic story
set at the time of the Industrial Revolution in the mid 1800's.
Nothing to do with Heyer but nevertheless a great book. |

Hi Anna, as Ann said, the conference is on this weekend. I'm
really looking forward to it and will be interested to who else is
interested in Heyer.
Hi Chitra, if there's any chance at the conference, perhaps I, or
others, can find out who we would influence at the BBC. It would give
them so many more novels to turn into short films or movies!
Cheers, Sally |

Do you mean this Baroness Orczy book?
The First Sir Percy (an Adventure of the Laughing Cavalier)
There seems to be a paperback of it advertised on the Canadian Amazon
site.
