Hi Sally, it was great meeting you last w/e in Cambridge. You encouraged me to write in with details of my Heyer items for sale so, briefly: I have a number of Georgette's handwritten letters from the 60s and 70s, not yet on my website. I specialise in Georgette Heyer books and always try to offer on my site a selection of first editions and other hardbacks as well as cheaper editions. I welcome enquiries from everyone. www.borisbooks.co.uk

To Diana W. I also rate A Civil Contract as possibly my favourite - have just reread it. I would also love to see BBC adaptations (or movies) of GH novels. I think I would start with Frederica - it is falling off your chair funny and has a balloon ascent, endangered child, Baluchistan Hound, and a love story! What more could you ask for?

So sorry I missed you, Ann. I thought I was running late and got quite flustered. But had a wonderful time -- so many Heyer-o-philes -- including new ones! I sat next to two young lasses at lunch who've only recently started reading Heyer. How I envy them the enjoyment of knowing that there are un-read ones still to be enjoyed!

And for all those doubting -- there were at least 4 men there amongst the other ~76 women Sport

I'll be trying to write something up -- either that or posting a link (or both?!) to Laura's site with her notes (she presented one of the talks and made copious notes on t'others).

I'll send an update to the updates alias as soon as I've got something up on the site.

Best regards, Sally.

Anyone discovered iTunes Heyer unabridged Audio Books yet?? They are brilliant and I highly recommend them. Just finished listening to Devil's Cub read by Michael Drew - wonderfully done. Also have Frederica, Bath Tangle and Regency Buck.

For the person who mentioned North and South - it's a "classic" by Elizabeth Gaskell (Cranford) which was serialised as a costume drama by the BBC and is a VERY romantic story set at the time of the Industrial Revolution in the mid 1800's. Nothing to do with Heyer but nevertheless a great book.

Very much looking forward to seeing you at the conference on Saturday (http://www.lucy-cav.cam.ac.uk/pages/news-events/re-reading-georgette- heyer.php)- intermittently checking in/out of your website for years (http://www.bex-lewis.co.uk/interests/books/GeorgetteHeyer.htm), and thought about putting on a GH conference about 5 years ago, got as far as contacting Jay Dixon, then job situation all went wrong - c'est la vie! Just had a panic that wasn't on the list for the conference, but have had it confirmed! Phew! This was one event NOT to miss!

Hi Anna, as Ann said, the conference is on this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it and will be interested to who else is interested in Heyer.

Hi Chitra, if there's any chance at the conference, perhaps I, or others, can find out who we would influence at the BBC. It would give them so many more novels to turn into short films or movies!

Cheers, Sally

Do you mean this Baroness Orczy book?

The First Sir Percy (an Adventure of the Laughing Cavalier)

There seems to be a paperback of it advertised on the Canadian Amazon site.
Try Googling Amazon.ca
