Wow, it's been so long since I've visited the site, the
guestbook is now huge!
Kathleen, have you read An Infamous Army? It features some characters
from Regency Buck and also Mary and Dominic in later life. |

Have just "almost" finished The Unknown Ajax and find that
the last page or two is missing. Any suggestions on how to finish the
story?
I have been reading Georgette Heyer since I was 10 (around 1974) and
still love reading and rereading them. I used to borrow them but have
of late tried to find copies I can own. |

I love Georgette Heyer! I have gobbled up all the books of hers that I
can get my hads on! Is there any series in her collection. I know that
'Devils cub' comes after 'These Old Shades', but
is there any more? I love Mary and Dominic and Leonie and I can't
give them up! |

I picked up my first Georgette Heyer book (Faro's Daughter) only
a few weeks ago from the local library. Since then I have been back to
the library and have read three more books since. I absolutely love
the wit in the books and enjoy the fantastic story telling. I am well
and truly hooked!! |

Glad to have found this site. I've been a fan of GH for over
thirty years. I have a very battered complete collection of the Pan
editions from the 70s. I was considering updating to the Arrow
reissues, as I like their cover art, but I'm not too impressed
with how their older books hold out as compared to Pan. I have a few
old Barbara Cartland novels done by Arrow, and most of them are
shedding pages or covers. I think These Old Shades is probably my
favourite, but there's a number of others that come pretty close. |

Greetings from Hyderabad. I arrived in Regency England quite late in
the day. I was inspecting the copiously-filled bookshelves of my
friend Sikha Ghosh and observed an impressive row of faded paper-backs
- knowing that I have a somewhat romantic disposition she suggested I
try them.
Having discovered in the last few months that they are not quite as
Mills-and-Boonish as they appear I'm now a totally committed GH
fan - my favourite so far being "A Civil Contract".
May I ask, through this forum,if there are any members of the
University of the Third Age out there? |

I have been reading Georgette Heyer for years, discovering her books
in our library. Now I read nothing but Regency Romance novels. I am
using this website as a check-list as I re-read her novels. The best
one? I like both The Toll-Gate and The Nonesuch. |

I love them so much I have traded in my paperbacks for first editions.
Unfortunately I love them so much I am not treating them as first
editions! Talk about decadent! |

I have been a fan since I was 12. My first Georgette Heyer was The
Masqueraders. I was an avid reader, and my mom gave it to me to
prevent my reading less appropriate titles. Now, I'm 35, and just
before my last baby was born, I read every single book of hers that I
own (35). I am so glad that her books are being published again. Not
every library has a good selection. I am slowly obtaining them all. I
love the Arrow Books covers. Very nice, and showing the classy kind of
books they are, rather than grouping them with average romance
novels.
Thank you for an excellent website. |

Greetings!!!
This is an awesome site and the one that really got me hooked on
Georgie's books. Incidentally, I fell in love with the UK Arrow
editions and went hunting all over the place for a web site that I
could order them from (I'm in FLA) without having to pay
astronomical shipping rates. Well, I found it! The
bookdepository.co.uk has all the Arrow reissues of the historical
novels/romances and the mysteries for around $10-$11 a piece...plus
they don't charge a dime for shipping! And the delivery is
awesome, taking about 7-9 days.
Thanks! :D

Hi Sally, hi GH Fans! My name is Sarah and I just wanted to let all of
you know that Sourcebooks (full disclosure - I work for them) is
currently republishing many of GH's best books. This fall
we're releasing An Infamous Army and Cotillion, and next spring
we'll be launching Royal Escape, Friday's Child, False
Colours, Lady of Quality, Black Sheep and Spanish Bride. For those of
you NOT in the US, I know it's a bit easier to find GH's
wonderful books, but for those of us State-side, I just wanted to give
you the heads-up...Georgette Heyer returns! If anyone has any
questions or comments for me, please don't hesitate to shoot me
an email - sarah.riley@sourcebooks.com. Thanks so much for this
wonderful site that's keeping the Heyer fever alive and thriving! |

Thanks for this great site- I especially appreciate the excerpts. I
haven't read some of those titles in years and it was cool to be
reminded of them and be inspired to track some of them down. The first
Heyer book I read was "Cousin Kate"- it was next to
Hesse's "Steppenwolf" in the library and I was supposed
to read that for school assignment. That alphabetical serendipity led
to my discovering one of the most enjoyable writers I have ever read! |

Hi Manjiree
The next book after Devil's Cub is An Infamous Army. Not an exact
sequel, but it does mention Mary & Dominic, and the heroine is I think
their grand-daughter. Before you read this, make sure you've read
Regency Buck if you like to read in order. |

I have loved Georgette Heyer since I was 13 or so. I am past 50 now,
but still her books fascinate me. The modern day romantic fiction
infringes into porno territory and is consequently boring for anyone
past adolescence. Whereas, Georgette Heyer's are refreshing for
any female from 13 to 83. |

I am so delighted to know that other people have discovered
GH's books and enjoyed/enjoy them as much as I have. I cannot now
recall whom it was who finally persuaded me to read " These Old
Shades", in fact I have a vague memory of having to be bribed in
order to do so! That was more than 30 years ago now and my battered
copy of These OS is still re-read by me at least once a year. I was
absolutely riveted and it was as far from the silly romance novels as
it could be. Ms Heyer is right up there with my dear Jane Austen as
far as I'm concerned.:) |
