Cartland probably copied her plots to some extent as she turned out
her light romances in a couple of weeks and might have run out of
ideas.
All Heyer fans wonder who GH was going to sue for plagiarism when an
author used her phrase "Cheltenham tragedy" in an historical
romance. If you find it in one of them please let us know! |

Hello:
Has anyone read the Great Roxhythe? I believe I may have read it
quite a number of years ago, but I can't remember the story line,
nor the characters. I have tried in my library to look for it, but
it's not available.

I love Heyer's books! I find them like Austens, but more exciting
and funny. I have so many favorites its hard to choose, but here are
some : Devils cub, regency buck, fridays child, these old shades, the
corinthian (the ending is hilarious),and the quiet gentleman. Hoping
to get a lot of her books as grad gifts this year!!! |

Its a pleasure to be in this room and find others who enjoy escaping
into Heyers world.I think Lord Worth is at least in his 30s.This is
pure conjecture but also based on his manners which is like the older
heros in The convenient marriage and April Lady |

I just finished reading Regency Buck and I just loved it. However I
couldn't decide how old the hero Lord Worth should have been. I
am guessing either 29 or 34. Please let me know which one of these
numbers is correct. I read several parts of the book again to decide,
but couldn't. I hope there is someone there who can help me to
decide.
Thanks!

My mother introduced me to Georgette Heyer many years ago with Lady of
Quality. I have since read and re-read all of her Regency romances
and some of her historical romances many, many times. Georgette Heyer
remains among my favorite authors--I can easily get lost in her
romances. Her subtle wit and sense of humor make the stories a fun
read, and I also agree with a previous poster who enjoys the more
practical heroines--they are among my favorites, as well! Thanks for
providing such a great site devoted to my favorite author!! |

I've just read Frederica again and realised all over again how
much I love GH's 'sensible' heroines, such as Drusilla
(Quiet Gentleman), Elinor (Reluctant Widow) and Jenny (Civil
Contract). I'm fond of the skittery young ones too, but it's
the quieter, capable girls I really love. |

Hi Shenaz!
I have read Black Sheep and Friday's Child, but haven't read
Sylvester yet. I guess I need to buy that one :)
Thanks for taking the time to get back to me. I just love this Home
Page. It makes me happy that she has her own page.
Have a great afternoon!

Hi Shenaz!
I bet I will read the book again and again. Thanks for responding. I
loved the characters so much specially Mary and Vidal. It is funny how
Vidal fell in love with her little by little. You can see it thru
their dialogue. With Heyer you have to read between the lines :)I had
to go back and re-read some parts to see when Vidal fell in love with
Mary. We know almost from the beginning of the book that Mary cares
for him. I loved the ending sooooooooooo much.
What is your next favorite Heyer book?
Have a great afternoon!

I just finished reading 'Devil's Cub' what an excellent
book. Couldn't put the book down until I finished it. I just
can't understand why they do not make movies or TV series out of
her books. For me her books are as good as Jane Austen's
The funny thing is everytime you read one of her books you think
it's the best until you read the next one. Just until recently An
Infamous Army was my favorite however now Devil's Cub is the best
:)
Georgette Heyer is the best. I just want to thank you all for this
website.
Is there anyone out there who loved this book as much as I did?
